First Lady Darlene Simmons Boles is married to the love of her life, Bishop Tracy L. Boles and they have three wonderfully talented children; Tra, Faith, and Love. She serves beside her husband as a lead servant of Timothy Baptist Church, Athens, GA and New Beginning Full Gospel Baptist Church, Decatur, GA. First Lady Boles is currently employed by the Dekalb County School System in the curriculum and instruction department as a multi-tiered support services specialist.
Prior to her current role she was an Academic Coach for five years and a elementary teacher for ten years. She is a proud graduate of the best HBCU in the North Atlantic region, Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, NC where she earned a B.A. in English. While attending JCSU, she became a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
During her teaching career she has earned a Direct Instruction Trainer certificate from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Family Engagement certificate from HarvardX, and an Educational Leadership certificate from University of GA. She also earned her master’s degree from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AR in Language Arts. Her motto for life is,
“Pray and Keep It Moving.”
